サンドイッチの断面

コインランドリー跡地、６坪の小さなスペースを利用したサンドイッチ専門店の計画。小さいながらもたくさんの人に訪れてほしい。その気持ちに応えるべく、シンプル且つこのお店「らしさ」を作ることを考えた。

大きなテーブルを2つ。
テーブルをみなで囲い、サンドイッチを口いっぱいに頬張る。コーヒーやお酒を飲みながら、おしゃべりやゆったりとした時間を楽しむ。
小さな空間ではあるが、賑やかで落ち着く、心地よい場所となった。

“サンドイッチの断面”をキーワードに、2つのテーブルは大きなテーブルをカットしたような内部の断面を見せるつくりとなっている。
天板のメラミンは傷がつきやすい昔ながらのものを使用し、年月が経つにつれ、趣が出ることを楽しみにしている。

The Cross-Section of a Sandwich

This sandwich shop was built in a small 6-tsubo (approx. 20 sqm) space, previously used as a laundromat.
Despite its size, we hoped it would become a place many people could enjoy. With that in mind, we focused on creating a simple yet distinctive atmosphere that captures the identity of the shop.

Two large tables anchor the space.
People gather around them, enjoying sandwiches, coffee, or drinks, and spending time chatting in a lively yet relaxed environment.
Though compact, the space feels both welcoming and energetic.
The concept centers on the idea of a “sandwich cross-section.”

The two tables are designed to resemble cut sections of a larger table, with exposed internal structures that reflect this imagery.
For the tabletops, we chose an old-fashioned melamine material that easily scratches—with the hope that these marks will, over time, add character and charm.
