Fen. Hair ICI

By assembling a mix of diverse elements, the design deliberately obscures the intended functions of furniture and built-in features, creating a space that does not immediately appear to be a hair salon.
Multiple layers and components are combined in a patchwork-like composition, where existing structures and new interventions are carefully balanced.

Bundled timber becomes a vanity; stacked concrete blocks become a bench. By deconstructing materials and their original purposes, then reassembling them in unexpected ways, the design creates a space where the function is not immediately obvious—yet remains compelling and inviting.
The first floor features hard, inorganic materials such as stone, glass, and metal. It is composed as an open, lobby-like space with a large sofa bench, stairs, and a bar-style counter, evoking a sense of spaciousness and clarity.
In contrast, the second floor is defined by softer materials such as wood and earth, aiming to create the warmth and calm of a villa or artist’s studio.

These two contrasting atmospheres—hard and soft—are woven together into a single, continuous experience. The result is a space where opposites coexist in unexpected harmony.
